TradeSpringBot
When a business owner asks TradeSpring to find their business online, so that they can connect their accounts, TradeSpringBot reads their own website for the links to those accounts. It visits only because the owner asked, and only that business's site.
What it reads
- Only the website the business's own Google listing names: never a site that merely turned up in a search.
- Its home page, and at most one more page on the same site: the first link that says contact or about.
- From those pages, only the links to the business's Instagram, Facebook and Checkatrade profiles, its schema.org sameAs links, and the phone number, email domain, company number and postcode they show.
What it never does
- Images, prices, reviews or any other content. Nothing of the page is kept beyond what is listed above.
- Pages on Instagram, Facebook, Checkatrade, Google, Companies House or any directory.
- A site that refuses it. A robots.txt rule, a 403 or a challenge page ends the visit, and it does not try another way in.
How it identifies itself
Every request carries this User-Agent:
TradeSpringBot/1.0 (+https://tradespring.app/bot)
It reads robots.txt before anything else. To keep it off a site, add:
User-agent: TradeSpringBot Disallow: /
Each request waits five seconds at most and reads no more than a megabyte, and it follows a redirect only within the same site.
